Side Hustle: From Idea to Income in 27 Days – Loy Machedo’s Book Review
What made me purchase this book?
Best selling author Daniel Pink (author of To Sell is Human and Drive) and Gretchen Rubin (The Happiness Project) recommended this book
The title of Hustling was persuasive enough for me to want to buy it.
I am a Freelancer who makes money through a side business – the book spoke on the same concept
It spoke about how to find out if you have a great idea with $10 and Facebook account
I was looking to see if I could get even one single worthwhile idea from the book

5 REASONS WHY WAS I DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS BOOK?
- VAGUE ADVICE
The advice stated in this book is very vague. It’s more like saying – to succeed, you need to work hard, be focused and never give up. - REAL OR FAKE?
Each and every chapter of this book has an example. How authentic those examples are (are they real or fake) no one knows. In fact – I was wondering why the author didn’t post any website or profile links to prove that the claims he was making of the thousands of dollars success stories that people earned per month were authentic - TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE
When something is too good to be true – it always is the case. The author makes it sound that anyone and everyone can achieve success. I’ve been a guy who has made a living being online. I know of thousands of people who have done exactly what the author has stated and yet failed. So what does that mean? - BOOK FOR PEOPLE WHO CANNOT THINK
Whenever I read advice that has been dumbed down I question myself – what is the point of this book? Because seriously – no grown-up individual with common sense & even the most basic business acumen would find any added value in the pieces of advice given in these pages. - FAKE AMAZON REVIEWS?
I don’t mean to sound rude but I am pretty sure the 140 5 star reviews that the author managed to get on Amazon are all either paid for, or done by his marketing company or by his well-wishers.
Side Hustle MOMENT OF TRUTH
A rather disappointing book that makes you feel as if you would find some ‘secret’ to success. However, all the book does is give you a basic outline of what most people would know by default.
I would recommend this book for youngsters of high school as a recommended reading. However, for adults, business professionals and online entrepreneurs like myself reading this book is like giving a ABC book to English Speaking Adults hoping that someone would improve their language skills and become better English speaking communicators through this book.
Overall Rating 2 out of 10.
